only requiring a couple things:

floral tape
floral wire
hot glue gun
pearl pins or safety pin T strips or suit pocket holders or magnetic strips (we LOVE these-but check with your dates if they have a pocket in their jacket!)
slap bracelets if you are making corsages as well

Look for ready made bouquets with filler flowers and greenery that you like.
We love using wax flower, chamomile and mini pompom mums.
Best options for focal point flowers aren't always what you think. A full sized rose ican be too heavy and can flop as soon as you put it on-instead opt for spray roses or ranunculus.
We love visiting trader joes a couple days ahead to see what options they have. Give them a fresh cut and put them in water and somewhere cold until you're ready to use them.
